One ordinary day at Animal Aid, we got a call regarding a dog in distress. At that moment, we didn’t expect what was about to happen next. We quickly went to the location with nervous anticipation, but we had no idea what we were going to see. When we arrived, we were shocked by what we saw before us.
As we were driving down the road, we noticed a dog frantically running around with a wire wrapped around his neck. The sight of this poor animal in sheer agony broke our hearts – it was clear that he was in immense pain and confusion. We knew we had to act quickly to save him from further harm. It was crucial to capture him before he ran away and risked worsening his injuries. To transport him safely, we opted for a net to carefully catch him and take him back to Animal Aid.
Upon returning with him, it was evident that he was in immense agony. The extent of his injury indicated that he had been suffering for a substantial period of time. It was truly miraculous that he had managed to survive until now. Our team quickly got to work, delicately extracting the wire and initiating critical medical care. Though the journey ahead to restore the wellbeing of this courageous pup would be arduous, our determination to nurse him back to health remained unwavering.
In the following weeks, we provided the dog with antibiotics, dressings, IV fluids, and painkillers. It was astounding to witness his bravery in overcoming his injuries. Despite the immense agony he had suffered, his fighting spirit remained unbroken.
Upon seeing him, we were filled with admiration for his fortitude and perseverance. It dawned on us that in the midst of overwhelming challenges, one can hold onto optimism. With proper assistance and encouragement, the impossible can become attainable.
Eventually, the wounded pup bounced back and we were ecstatic to witness his exuberance once more. This occurrence reinforced our belief that all creatures warrant compassion, attention, and admiration. Regardless of how arduous the path may seem, we must remain steadfast in our commitment to aiding their recuperation and prosperity.

Unaware of being observed, a woman left a café on a chilly and wet day in Zonguldak, Turkey. However, a security camera recorded her as she walked out of the café door and spotted a stray dog seeking shelter from the rain under the overhang outside. The canine had no other option but to stay there despite the harsh weather conditions.
Instead of ignoring him, she chose to sacrifice her own comfort and give him more. Although it was a brief moment, it didn’t go unnoticed. The video quickly went viral and gained attention from news outlets across the country, with one even proclaiming that humanity was still alive.
A viral video caught the attention of one person who recognized their friend, Duygu Elma, as the star of the clip. Elma never could have expected the outpouring of praise she received for simply giving her scarf to a stray dog in need. Although she could not offer much more than that in the moment, it felt like the right thing to do when she saw the dog shivering in the cold weather. “I never imagined that my actions would receive such attention. I’m truly surprised,” said Elma in an interview with The Dodo.
Elma had a brief encounter with a stray, but she believes that there are others who are also concerned about its welfare. She thinks that Turkey is known for its love of animals and there may be more people looking out for strays like this one. Elma is pleased that her actions could inspire others to do the same.
