Consider the timidity of duikers, diminutive creatures, and you can only imagine the terror experienced by this lamb, ensnared by the ravenous leopard’s claws. The spectacle was recorded near the Biyamiti Bushveld Camp in Kruger National Park by Charles Nel, a teacher and tour guide.

Suddenly, a piercing shriek echoed through the air, prompting us to follow the klipspringer’s line of sight. In an instant, a leopard emerged onto the rock, clutching a young duiker in its jaws.”

The incident occurred at such a rapid pace that there was little opportunity to process any emotions. The observer was amazed to note that the adorable duiker wasn’t bleeding and the leopard was merely grasping it, akin to a cat playing with a mouse.
