A chimpanzee named Do Do has formed a close bond with a two-month-old tiger cub named Aorn. The two animals were photographed at Samut Prakan Crocodile Farm and Zoo in Bangkok, Thailand. The farm houses not only crocodiles, but also monkeys, tigers, elephants, lions, horses, and hippopotamuses.
Do Do’s motherly instincts take over as she attentively bottle-feeds Aorn, who gratefully laps up the milk. At one point, Do Do puts the bottle in her own mouth – almost mimicking the actions of a human mother checking to see if the milk is suitable for her offspring to consume. Do Do even wears a pair of denim shorts, perhaps to protect her thighs from Aorn’s claws.
The photos reveal an adorable odd couple, with the chimpanzee giving the tiger milk to drink like a mother and child. They are humans’ closest relative, sharing a similar genetic make-up and displaying behavior not unlike our own.
Below is a video of the chimp and tiger cub playing together.
